While there are no formal entry requirements into courses offered by Training Helps, learners are required to demonstrate the following:
Pre-Training Review
All learners must undertake pre-training review prior to the enrolment or commencement of the course. The pre-training review consists of a questionnaire which aims to identify their training needs, previous education or training for experience, relevance of the courses to learners, basic computing skills. This review may also be conducted via an interview by a designated Training Help staff. An interview also aims to identify possible CT/RPL opportunities, confirm oral communication skills. Through pre-training review, student will demonstrate that they have necessary skills to successfully complete the course.
It will be beneficial to have some industry experience and/or underpinning knowledge and/or skills as necessary to successfully complete a specific course.
Some short course may have a prerequisite requirements and they will be specified within the course information.
Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN)
You must have a proficient knowledge of written and spoken English to successfully participate in the training and compete the course assessment. All Learners are required to undertake a short Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) self-assessment prior to the commencement of training to ensure if you will need any additional support during the course.
Digital Literacy
Learners are expected to have a minimum computer skill to use a computer, a work processor and use the internet.
System Requirements
Learners are required to have the minimum required resources to be able to train online. Learners must have access to:
- Tablet or Smartphone (Apple or Android) or
- Computer with webcam & microphone (Laptop or Desktop)
- A Reliable internet connection
- A valid email account
- A word processor such as Microsoft Office
- PDF Reader such as Adobe Reader
- Scanner or Smartphone with a camera to upload digital files for assessment. e.g. third party report
- Printer
Learners may access scanning and printing services at outlets such as Officeworks.
Unique Learner Identifier
All Learners undertaking a nationally accredited course or unit must hold an Unique Learner Identifier (USI) and provide it to Training Helps during the enrolment process. If learner do not provide an USI, Training Helps will not be able to issue a Certificate, Statement of Attainment or Transcript for the training. For details on obtaining an USI, visit www.usi.gov.au. Training Helps Learner Administration staff can assist you to obtain your USI on request.
Identification
Training Helps is required to authenticate learner’s identity. For this purpose, students will be required to submit a copy of their government issued photo ID at the time of enrolment – for example a driver’s licence, proof-of-age card or passport. The ID document mush have clear photo and a distinct signature.
During the course, learners are required to sign off on an Assignment Submission Sheet to ensure that documents submitted by them are valid and authentic. Training Helps will counter-check their ID signature on their ID with that of their submitted work.
